Primary support of call center order taking and tracking tools, written with a combination of VB and dynamic HTML/ASP forms communicating with a SQL Server backend database.

    • Coded and tested various ‘interface’ applications that provided direct communications to vendor phone platforms to perform various (recharge, activate, etc.) actions against the phone card.
    • Implemented ecommerce ordering process of virtual internet phone cards, utilizing ASP pages on a secure IIS server.
    • Designed and developed dynamic intranet based reports for management with a combination of VB, HTML, ASP, VBScript and Javascript.

Acted as lead technical analyst and programmer on the Mainsaver Data Conversion project. Utilized analytical skills to develop a technical plan for a tool and process to convert Mainsaver customer’s data from their DOS to Windows version.

    • Led technical aspects of development team utilizing data bridging software (DCLE/Reliant), with data analyzing and cleansing utilities also written in VB and Java.
    • Resultant set of tools  seamlessly converts the DOS database to the Windows version, targeting either a SQL Anywhere, Oracle, or SQL Server database.

Participated as key team member for the Loadplan Project for Conway Transportation Services. Loadplan is a Client/Server system utilizing a VB front-end with SQL*NET/ODBC connection to either an Oracle or DB2 mainframe database server.

    • Environment included VB 6, with full code object-encapsulation, making use of VB6’s new data-designer.
    • External controls included Active Reports and FTP/x.
    • Designed the primary Load Plan Inquiry screen that displayed the truck’s route from origin to destination in a tree format.

Utilized VB and Installation skills on a small team to develop the next version of Wells Fargo’s Armored Truck Vendor tracking system (Nascar). Client/Server system utilized a VB front-end with SQL*NET/ODBC connection to an Oracle v7.3.2 database.

    • Led conversion of application from 16-bit VB 3 development environment to 32-bit VB 5.
    • Acted as primary programmer contact for two critical areas, Dial-in/Modem upload and download routines, and Crystal Reports memory management trouble-shooting.
    • Designed and implemented installation/setup routines, including file control and version management.
    • Added new several new features, including an updated design, new forms, and new/redesigned reports.
    • Conducted Y2K compliance review and made appropriate changes to code.

Provided project direction and team guidance on software project to develop a multi-tier database trade tracking system (Trades2) for Bank of America’s San Francisco trading floor.

    • Designed and implemented object-oriented architecture for Trades2 tracking system at Bank of America. Significantly reducing future development time for additional Trades2 add-in modules.
    • Developed a common set of ActiveX controls that were used in Trades2 at Bank of America and can be used by other Bank of America programmers on future software projects.
    • Constructed the interface, dialogs, and icons for the Trades2 application utilizing advanced Windows design elements as appropriate.

Directed the re-design and development of MDD’s NT enterprise management tool, Trusted Enterprise Manager, (TEM 2.0). MDD has currently shipped over 80,000 user licenses of TEM.

    • Created new screens and dialogs for TEM 2.0, which brought the product up to par with competition and forged past them with new concepts and ease-of-use enhancements.
    • Developed a robust custom database reporting tool that created filtered reports based on user’s criteria for TEM.
    • Designed setup and configuration wizard for TEM 2.0, which slashed previous installation and product configuration time from about 1-1.5 hours, to under 30 minutes.
    • Designed and developed MDD’s corporate web site (www.mddinc.com), which significantly increased company’s image and decreased staff support time.
    •   Developed corporate identity, product identity, web graphics, advertising, flyers, and public relations materials for MDD. Resulted in a comprehensive company look and feel that increased their presence in the software industry.

Developed and communicated to all Chevron support staff a comprehensive desktop operating-system strategy for Chevron’s 30,000+ PCs.

    • Designed internal tools and web sites to support the administration and management of Chevron’s PC infrastructure.
    • Designed interface and architecture for an NT server tool that allowed CITC to migrate Novell and NT servers to NT 4.0.

Led and participated on various workgroups that evaluated, recommended, and designed a company-wide Helpdesk ticketing application. Developed standardized testing and tracking methodologies.

    • Delivered division’s keynote talk illustrating the design and rollout of CITC’s helpdesk tools and best practices.
Technical Analyst/Programmer (Information Center) Aug 1992 – Feb 1995

Answered software and hardware technical-support questions across a variety of PC and Macintosh platforms for the San Ramon Information Center (SRIC) in CITC, responding with ‘house-call’ support where appropriate.

    • Designed and implemented two-tiered Information Center Scheduling application (ICS) in VB with Access back-end database. ICS provided real-time phone tracking and scheduling data to over 50 support user’s desktops across sites in California and Texas. Resulted in a decrease in customer ‘hold’ time, while simultaneously increasing the productivity of the Helpdesk and Information Center support staffs.
    • Supervised re-design team that ported ICS to 3-tier client-server design with an ODBC connected Oracle backend.
    • Delivered presentation highlighting the ICS architecture and design at regional helpdesk conference in San Francisco.
    • Co-produced CITC’s multi-media PC Products Guide using Microsoft’s Multi-media Developer’s Kit.
    • Trained new helpdesk staff on use of tools & problem solving techniques, specializing in Windows95 technology.
